The two great almost-contemporaries Saxo and Snorri have very different writing styles, but they retell many of the same mythological tales. In my paper I compare Saxo's version of Thor's journey to Geirrød with Snorri's. I wish to show that the two versions have much in common, despite the diametrically different ways in which the two writers have used them, suggesting that they could have had a common source.
